Cafe Review: Blue Bottle Apgujeong

I stumbled upon this Blue Bottle walking back from having visited another cafe in the area. I didn’t purchase a drink, as I was sufficiently caffeinated, but I did buy a bag of coffee and took the following photos.

I was quite surprised when the barista spoke to me in English, but considering the fact that Apgujeong is a tourist hot-spot, I’d imagine that some of their baristas have a working English proficiency (or Japanese, Chinese, etc.).

I wish I had more to say about this cafe, but alas, as I mentioned in my last Blue Bottle review, the lovely cafe descriptions were scrubbed from their website and I’ve been unable to track them down, through both the internet and Blue Bottle customer service. I liked the vertical use of space at this location, as I imagine rent in Apgujeong is pretty expensive and it’s better to utilize less land space. That said, the first floor was still rather welcoming even with all the stainless steel. I think the harshness of the stainless steel was offset by the rounded center table and its round stools, round lights illuminating the wall, and light wood (cherry?) used for the merchandise wall.

This spot seems ideal for an introduction to what Blue Bottle has to offer.
