Books I Read in 2023

2023 was the first year that I can recall “reading” an audiobook. I’ve tried listening to a few but was never able to get into them. Spotify Premium included Jennette McCurdy’s book, “I’m Glad My Mom Died” so I listened to that while I cleaned my apartment before visiting the States for a week for Christmas. I’d like to listen to more audiobooks, and maybe pull myself away from listening to those “3 true horror alone-at-night-in-the-Burger-King-drive-thru-in-the-middle-of-a-storm-in-a-car-with-only-one-headlight-and-a-quarter-tank-of-gas-left-and-I-just-broke-up-with-my-girlfriend stories” YouTube videos I find myself listening to while doing dishes or tidying up.

I started reading the “Alice in Borderland” manga because I really enjoyed the show, and started rewatching the show as well. Shuntaro Chishiya is my favorite character and I still have more of the manga to read.

I re-read The Metamorphosis. Just as good as I remember it, although I’ve moved on from my Kafka phase.

“Just Like Home” was my first book club read and I’d like to continue reading more, even if they’re not something I’d normally pick up. Members of my book club are lovely people.

My goal for 2024 is 30 books!
