I’ll admit: one of my biggest annoyances is not being able to find a menu online, so here’s the Bunker menu. (Another annoyance is not being able to find a pastry menu/figure out if they even serve pastries at the cafe.)

Luckily and yummily, Bunker has a great selection of pastries, as seen below.

I ordered a canele (because of course) and blueberry tart (blueberries have been my thing recently) and an iced pour-over. I was very confused by my iced pour-over because it wasn’t just ice and coffee. It had a creamy layer on top. Milk? Oh no, I hope it’s not milk because I’m lactose intolerant. Coffee? If it’s coffee, how do they make it? Is it frothed coffee? Whatever it is, it isn’t like anything I’ve ever tried in coffee and frankly, after having it twice now, I can’t decide if I enjoy it or not. It’s just very surprising to have a layer of frothy foam on an iced pour-over. I confirmed with the barista the last time that it is, indeed, coffee, and wonder if perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the pour-over is not manual, but rather, made on a Marco brewing system, I believe the SP9 specifically. Perhaps there is a way to create the foam on the Marco system, or perhaps it’s just something they decided to add to the iced pour-overs.

I’ve been to Bunker a couple times now, the latest being after going to the Coffee Expo with some new friends, where some celebrity baristas from Bunker were making espresso. We waited about twenty minutes in line to get up close and personal with the baristas who were churning out the espresso at an astounding speed, and it was so delicious, my friends insisted that we go to Bunker afterwards.
