Oddly, despite his ever-growing popularity, there was a dearth of birthday cafes for SHINee’s “ace” maknae, Lee Taemin, and many of them ended on Saturday. This was unfortunate as we were planning on visiting the cafes on Sunday, so we ended up just going to one birthday cafe before calling it a day and heading to lunch.

The cafe we went to was called Cafe Monggeul Pink Branch (카페몽글 핑크점) which seems to be a smaller, sister cafe to Cafe Monggeul Sky Branch which held a birthday event for Taemin’s bandmate Key last year.

It was a very small, intimate cafe and it never got crowded while we were there. The ceiling ledges were full of stacked birthday cafe cups so I think this is a popular birthday cafe. A lot of idols have birthdays in July, so I think it was a struggle to find available cafes. Nevertheless, it was nice to see old friends and new.
