There’s really not much to say about the Myeongdong location of Blue Bottle. It’s a take-away only location located in Noon Square, a large shopping mall in Myeongdong.
I ordered the winter latte with oat milk, and the barista let me know that it would be a sweet latte, which I was fine with. Blue Bottle has come a long way from only serving mochas because customers pointed out that if they had chocolate for hot chocolate, they could certainly make a mocha! The winter latte is supposedly made with “sweet juniper topped with freshly cracked pink peppercorn” but to be honest, it just tasted sweet and a little salty because of the pink peppercorn.
I also ordered a liege waffle, which was as delicious as I remember. It was served in a coffee filter, adding a bit of charm to the pastry. The baristas were very nice, but be warned–this place is take-away only. There is a single bench on the other side of the espresso bar inside the shopping center, but there were signs that food and drink were not allowed.
I’d recommend other Blue Bottles over this one if you’re in the mood for Blue Bottle, and if you’re simply in the mood for good coffee and happen to be in Myeongdong, there are plenty of other good cafes in the area.
This location was supposed to be the last Blue Bottle location in Korea I needed to visit to complete my side quest of visiting every permanent Blue Bottle cafe in Korea, and then two more were added, so look forward to those!
