#3, The Bungalow Mystery

Nancy and her friend Helen are rescued from a storm by a girl named Laura, newly orphaned and awaiting her first meeting with her new guardians. Despite being told that she would receive quite a bit in inheritance, her new guardians insist she’s penniless–and her new guardians seem a bit off. Meanwhile, Nancy’s father is working on his own case involving missing investments from local bank. Like many of the stories, these two mysteries are closely intertwined.

According to Wikipedia, the 1960 revised edition of this book was “extensive” and the “mystery takes longer to develop” which goes against the grain of most of the revised editions.

This book wasn’t as interesting as “The Hidden Staircase.”
