A short bus ride down from Namsan Tower is a little cafe named Modular Coffee Bar. I don’t remember how I discovered this cafe–maybe one of my endless instagram ads. My friend and I had already been to one cafe when I suggested that we go to another one, and this one happened to be in the area.
We were the only guests the entire time we were there, up until the end when a couple came in. It was a quiet cafe that served up yummy coffee. Bonus: I think it’s pet friendly, because there are a lot of doggos posted on their Instagram account.
The interior was clean and very, as its name implies, modern. If Mondrian opened up a cafe, this would be it. The primary colors throughout the cafe gave it a nice, artsy feel.
They offer a few pastries as well as a “mashed potato sandwich” but we stuck with coffee this time. I ordered an iced pour-over which was really nice.

It’s far enough away from Namsan Tower to not be crowded, but still serves up good coffee, so it’s a great option when you’re finished looking around Seoul from atop Namsan. I believe their menu has been expanded, so definitely check it out if you’re in the area!
