Cafe Review: Blue Bottle, Pangyo
gray two story facade of Blue Bottle

We created this serene space to juxtapose the bustling city of Pangyo. Large windows allow in a gentle breeze and fresh sunlight to bring the beautiful elements of outdoors inside.
Wooden benches and comfy chairs offer you communal or isolated seating so you can choose between conversation or a moment to yourself.

Blue Bottle’s newest location in Korea, in the bustling Pangyo New Town, also known as Korea’s version of Silicon Valley, is located on the first and second floors of Avenue France, a fancy French-inspired shopping mall. Seen from the street corner, you can’t miss the Blue Bottle.

This location has a sparse handful of seats on the first floor, but walk upstairs for more seating, including some overlooking the intersection.

There is a large communal table on the second floor as well as some smaller tables, but don’t bother coming here if you’re trying to get a comfy, cozy cup of coffee–the chairs are really hard and uncomfortable. I know this is sometimes a specific cafe trick to increase turn-over, but I was rather shocked at just how uncomfortable the chairs were. None of them were inviting at all and the general cafe vibe was “cold” despite the large numbers and friendly baristas.

If you’re in the area to shop, this is probably a great place to grab a quick cup of good coffee, but it’s definitely not worth coming out to visit this particular location.
