And with that, I’ve completed reading another ten original Goosebumps books. They are:

• The Haunted School (#59)
• Night of the Living Dummy II (#31)
• Say Cheese and Die! (#4)
• Deep Trouble (#19)
• The Haunted Mask II (#36)
• The Ghost Next Door (#10)
• Be Careful What You Wish For (#12)
• Monster Blood (#3)
• Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes (#34)
• Piano Lessons Can Be Murder (#13)

Monster Blood and Say Cheese and Die! are the stand-outs of this bunch, although I have a soft spot for The Ghost Next Door, which I really believe could have been fleshed out into a much longer YA novella. It had more of a complex plot than your run-of-the-mill Goosebumps book, which was nice because it’s starting to get a little boring reading books written in the same style.

Luckily, I can knock out a Goosebumps book in about forty-five minutes and I’m alternating Goosebumps with my fourth re-read of Moby Dick so there’s enough variety there to keep me entertained. (And would you believe I actually convinced a bunch of other people to read Moby Dick along with me??)

The Haunted Mask II and Night of the Living Dummy II were sequels that didn’t really add anything to the initial story, which I was expecting. I’m not sure what’s going to happen when I get to Monster Blood IV…

I know there are some lists floating around the internet ranking the original 62 Goosebumps books and I don’t think I’ll be able to do that, but I do plan on listing my top ten books whenever I finish my mission.
